目出鯛
鯛といえば七福神の一人である恵比寿が掲げていたり、お祝い事で食卓に登場したりします。
日本人にとって赤と白の組み合わせは大変縁起のいいものであり、鯛も赤と白の組み合わせなので魚の中でも華やかなイメージを持たれています。
昔から鯛を丸ごと調理したものを「目出鯛（めでたい）」と呼び、お祝いの宴席にふさわしい縁起物とされてきました。頭から尾までを提供することで「一つの事柄を最初から最後までまっとうする」という意味が込められています。
また、鯛はほかの魚に比べ長生きすることから、長寿の象徴ともされています。
なかには４０年以上生きる個体もいるようです。

(Red sea bream)
Red sea bream is a lucky fish. In Japan, it’s called "Meide Tai" (In Japan, it means happy).
The red sea bream is held up by Ebisu, one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, and served on the table at festive occasions.
The combination of red and white is very auspicious for Japanese people, and red sea bream has a gorgeous image among fish because of its red and white color combination.
Since ancient times, a whole sea bream cooked in its entirety has been called " Meide Tai," and has been considered a good luck charm suitable for festive banquets.
By providing a service from head to tail, it means "to complete a single matter from beginning to end".
Sea bream is also considered a symbol of longevity because it lives longer than other fish. Some individuals seem to live for more than 40 years.
